Dawn Chorus / W Heardman on Slack’s Radio

The first episode of my monthly show, Dawn Chorus, on the Newcastle-based independent radio station @slacksradio.

During the dawn chorus — which peaks in the half hour before and after sunrise — the air is so still and quiet that sound carries twenty times further than it would later in the day.

This is the sonic space this radio show exists in: here you’ll find ethereal, hypnotic, ambient and experimental music evoking the transition between night and day, between waking and dreaming.

It means a lot to be involved with a project that has its roots in the North East and my hometown of Newcastle. Listen below :)
